The Challenge
A global intelligent power management company opened a new facility and needed to align with its broader zero-waste-to-landfill goals. While nearby sites had already achieved this standard, the new facility was still sending general waste to landfill as production ramped up. As waste volumes increased, the company needed to transition disposal methods without disrupting operations or adding logistical complexity.
The Solution
Envita partnered with the customer to move the facility from landfill disposal to a waste-to-energy program by creating a ne waste profile and coordinating with a local waste-to-energy provider. With a nearby waste-to-energy facility available, Envita maintained similar transportation distances while shifting disposal methods. This allowed for a smooth transition that supported sustainability goals without adding significant logistical challenges.
Envita also supported ongoing tracking and optimization efforts, helping the customer monitor waste volumes and identify additional opportunities, such as recycling programs, to further reduce landfill dependency over time.
The Result
By partnering with Envita, the global intelligent power management company transitioned waste from landfill to waste-to-energy processing, diverted 100 tons of waste from landfill, and created a foundation for future waste reduction initiatives.
