The Challenge
Grinding swarf waste was being disposed of in landfill, creating a barrier to achieving zero-waste-to-landfill (ZWTL) goals of a leading global specialty materials company site. To address this challenge, the site needed a cleaner, more sustainable solution that supported both operational and environmental objectives.
The Solution
After assessing alternative vendors, Envita Solutions implemented a waste-to-energy (WTE) solution that redirects the material to a facility where it is incinerated and converted into usable energy. This approach supports the site’s sustainability goals and aligns with ZWTL requirements.
The Result
By partnering with Envita, the global specialty materials company moved closer to ZWTL status, converted waste to usable energy, and diverted 227 tons of waste from landfill annually.
