The Envita Solutions headquarters are nestled in the heart of Marion County in Indianapolis. If you head West, you will soon find yourself in Hendricks County, the neighboring county that is home to many of our team members. One of our sustainability goals is to help build enriched, thriving communities in the neighborhoods where our employees work and live. Paired with the focus on leaving the planet, people, and communities better than before, we dedicate ourselves to donating and volunteering. With this at our heart, we have volunteered at W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park in Hendricks County for several years, but this year’s help had a special twist – planting along the Bicentennial Tree Trail.
The Hendricks County Bicentennial Steering Committee, the Hendricks County Parks Department, and the Parks Foundation of Hendricks County worked together to develop the Bicentennial Tree Trail. Covering over 7 acres and designed in the shape of “200,” this trail will feature at least 210 trees. The goal is to showcase trees native to Indiana, so they are planting at least three of each of the 70 different Indiana native species. You can see the current and conceptual pictures of the trail below.

For this project, we donated 25 trees and planted 115 trees in one day! This was the fourth year Envita employees helped in the park, a highly-anticipated annual tradition that will continue for years to come.
The Bicentennial Tree Trail isn’t finished yet, however. The Parks Foundation of Hendricks County is still looking for donations to bring this project over the finish line! Your donation can help plant a tree, add a bench to the trail, replace trees throughout the park, and maintain the trail for years to come. Every cent helps make this legacy project closer to reality.
If you’d like to donate or read more about the bicentennial project or make a donation, you can do so here. To stay up to date on Envita’s impact in the community, follow us on LinkedIn here.
